Ponzi schemer’s exotic car collection being auctioned by feds on Tuesday
Byron Keith Brown was sentenced to a 15-year prison term last December for stealing $17 million from investors through an internet Ponzi scheme. Now, the federal government is selling off his extensive car collection on Tuesday in an Ellicott City, Maryland auction.
The list of cars for sale is long and packed with blue-chip nameplates. Brown’s collection includes the usual litany of , , , and models, as well as a decent replica of a 1936 Auburn Speedster.
The cars all look like they’re in pretty good shape, and, since this is a goverment auction, there’s the outside chance they may sell for a bargain. If we had the coin, we’d be flying ourselves on over to Ellicott City for an up-close look at the inventory.
Check out for information on each of Brown’s car, and if you manage to snag one, swing by and give us a ride. Hat tip to Josh!
