Some of or earliest memories are of toddling around car shows in awe and thumbing through the local Automart, but there had to have been a moment when we made the switch from growing up as relatively normal children to becoming kids obsessed with the thrash of internal combustion. Maybe it was something like the event in the video posted after the jump.
While most kids are subjected to the brutality of a daily school bus ride, this particular youngster gets chauffeured in style. His dad’s ride of choice is a . Sure, there are more practical family haulers out there, but few scoot along with such prowess.

Jay Leno and the cars from Fast Five – Click above to watch the
Fast Five is the latest in the reinvigorated Fast and Furious franchise, and while the latest film adds Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (along with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel), the real co-stars are, as always, the cars. A whole new batch of wheels debuts in Fast Five, and Jay Leno took a firsthand look at some of them.
Movie car builder Dennis McCarthy brought a C2 Grand Sport replica, which features a 1980s Corvette suspension and a custom body by Mongoose. While many movie cars feature “fake” power, the Vette still packs 500 horses. And since this Vette was made for movie production, there are another nine copies, two of which sit on platforms to better handle some off-road stunts.
Beyond the Corvetteette, McCarthy brought a 1960s Dodge with a gutted blower and a small-block Chevy underhood. to watch the 10-minute video, which features a few clips from the movie and some behind-the-scenes footage as well. At one point, Jay leaves his garage and heads over to McCarthy’s home turf, which shows more metal from .
Kamil Kaluski, a.k.a , was cruising around Boulder, Colorado with his daughter when he spotted a sign emblazoned with “Auto Museum.” Not expecting much, he was a surprised to find this particular museum was actually home to the Shelby American Collection.
Stepping into the nondescript building, Kaluski and his young traveling companion were greeted by the sight of Cobras, Mustangs, GT40s and a few other very special hunks of iron. Some of those “other” vehicles include a and a .
